The short version
EasyCards is built so that your loyalty cards stay on your device. We don't run ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't require you to create an account. The only information we look at is what we genuinely need to make the app work and to keep improving it.
1. Who we are
"EasyCards", "we" or "us" refers to the team behind the EasyCards Android application. You can reach us at hello@easycards.app for any privacy-related question.
2. What stays on your device
- The cards you add (name, barcode, colour, notes)
- Your card order and grouping
- App preferences (theme, default scanner, widget settings)
This data is stored locally on your phone. We can't see it. If you uninstall EasyCards, this data is removed with the app.
3. Optional cloud backup
If you opt into backup, your card data is encrypted on your device and uploaded to your own Google account using Android's standard backup mechanism. We never receive a copy.
4. What we collect
To keep the app stable and improve it, we collect a small amount of anonymous technical information:
- Crash reports — so we can fix what breaks.
- Anonymous usage stats — e.g. "scan opened" or "card added", with no card content attached.
- Device type and OS version — to help us prioritise device support.
You can switch this off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous mode.
5. What we never do
- We do not run advertising.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not require an email address or social login to use EasyCards.
6. Permissions we request
- Camera — only when you scan a barcode to add a card.
- Storage / photos — only when you import a card image.
- Location (optional) — to surface the right card at the right shop. Off by default.
7. Children
EasyCards is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will remove it.
8. Your rights
Because almost everything stays on your device, you are in control by default. You can also write to privacy@easycards.app to:
- Ask what (if any) anonymous data we hold about your installation.
- Ask us to delete that data.
- Ask any other privacy question.
9. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Material changes are also announced in the app's release notes.
